![]() ![]() This will be a trial by fire fight, but make sure to bring Bulkwark potions and learn his attacks. Koshiai is not an easy fight, but with +5 Bloodfire weapon and a combination of +5 Bloodfire/Ragetail gear, he is very doable. Now for the hard/fun part: Koshai farming Side Note: If you are a Hammer or Axe User, you may want to farm Frostback Pangar as well, his Chest and Helm along with Ragetail Boots/Gloves is one of the best sets to utilize to max out Ragehunter, Knockout King, and/or Aetherhunter. Get his boots at least to +5 if nothing else. Do not waste your time right now, making his helm/chest. Most notable is the ability to hit +6 ragehunter fairly easy with a combination of his armor/weapons. His gloves and boots are great additions, along with his weapons. Ragetail has very well telegraphed attacks, can be interrupted during his multiple slides, and is fairly easy to isolate breaks on so that you are getting the breaks you need. Now that you have gotten a Bloodfire weapon and armor to +5, we want to move onto: Getting a full set of his gear to +5 (Pre-Heroic), will make your life much easier in the Maelstrom. Most notable are his Hammer, Axe, Sword, and Warpike. His helm and Gloves are great additions, along with his weapons. In groups, make sure to not chase, group up and let him charge you. Use stun nades if you are playing chainblades or repeaters, or just want to make sure you get a boop. If you master this, solo or in group, he is on his stomach about 50% of the fight, allowing you to isolate part breaks and kill him fairly easily. You will want to fight bloodfire first, because with every weapon but repeaters/chainblades, you can interrupt him, by hitting him with any attack as he charges at you. Now lets focus on the first and easiest fight in the NORMAL Maelstrom: Are you using Drask or Embermane Lantern?- If not, go back and unlock it first !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.Are you familiar with the weapon you plan to bring into the Maelstrom?- If not, build some familiarity.Have you gotten a set of Tier 4 (Uncharted Reaches) gear to +5?- If not, do so before starting the maelstrom. Before starting your first Tier 5 (Maelstrom) hunts, lets do a quick self-check: ![]() You can solo or group hunt most normal hunts for the particular parts as needed. Most fights apart from Koshai, Rezakiri, and Shrowd, do NOT require you to do heroics to get specific part breaks. Remember, get your gear to +5 in normal first and then transfer to Heroics. This guide, is meant to help slayers to progress to heroic fights quickly, while having more or less optimal sets of gear to farm any or all other fights in the Maelstrom with a bit more ease. ![]()
